Albert George Minie

Albert G. Minie   1925 - 2006 CHICOPEE-Albert G. Minie, 81, of 130 Celebration Circle, died Friday in the Holyoke Soldiers Home.  Born & educated in Chicopee, Al was the son of the late Frederick & Kathleen (Doran) Minie. Al had served in the U.S. Army for 21 years, having fought in WWII and the Korean Conflict.  After retiring from the Army, Al worked for Sidell Aluminum and American Sign Co., both of Springfield, and later at the Stop & Shop in Chicopee.  He was a member of the Chicopee American Legion and VFW.   Al is survived by his former wife, Thelma Minie of Chicopee, two daughters, Sharon Kidder and Doreen English, both of Chicopee, three sisters, Susan Falzone of Springfield, Dorothy Saroce of Springfield, and Judith Duclos of Chicopee, five grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Al will be held Sunday, November 5th, 2006 at 5PM at the Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway, Chicopee.  Burial with full Military Honors in the Mass. Veterans Memorial Cemetery will be private.  Visiting hours will be Sunday, November 5th from 1-5 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Holyoke Soldiers Home, 110 Cherry St., Holyoke, Ma 01040
