Alfred A. Jordan1930-2014Springfield- Alfred A. Jordan, 84, of Springfield passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at Redstone Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Born in Chester, MA on January 26, 1930 he was a son of the late Walter and Eva (Grise) Jordan. Alfred was a 1948 graduate of Cathedral High School and served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He worked for over 20 years at Ludlow Corporation in Holyoke. Alfred was a Eucharistic Minister for the former St. Mary's Church in Springfield. He enjoyed cooking and photography and was an avid Red Sox fan that never missed watching a game. Alfred leaves his loving wife Lorraine (LaFleche) Jordan of 62 years; his son Lawrence Jordan of Springfield; his daughter Linda Murphy of Three Rivers; six grandchildren, Kara, Brendan, Patrick, Kyle, Erin, and Bradley; and one great granddaughter Molly. Along with his parents, Alfred was predeceased by his brothers, William, Henry, and Paul. The family would like to thank the staff at Redstone Rehabilitation and Nursing Center for the loving care Alfred received for the past 3 years and to Care Alternatives Hospice, especially Stephanie. Calling hour will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 from 10:15a-11:15a at Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway, Chicopee with a funeral home service at 11:15a followed by Rites of Committal in the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery Chapel, 1390 Main St, Agawam, at 1p.
