Alida Mary Hurley

Alida M. Hurley 1927-2003 Chicopee - Alida M. (Deyette) Hurley age 76 died Friday at a local nursing home.  Born in Chicopee March 13, 1927 the daughter of the late Alida (Gadoury) and William J. Deyette Sr. She worked for over twenty years at the former Rexnord Co. in Springfield as a chain maker. She was a communicant of St. Patrick?s Church and was a past president of the American Legion Auxiliary post 275 and was director of the Daughters of the American Legion. She also was past member of the Rexnord Retirement Club. She was predeceased by her husband John F. Hurley Sr. in 1976 as well as two sisters Rita Denette and Lorraine LaFountaine. She leaves behind her son John F. Hurley Jr. and his wife Gail of Chicopee, daughters Shirley Rullmann and her husband Keith of Feeding Hills, Maureen Geoffroy and her husband Allen of Chicopee, brothers William J. Deyette Jr. and Roland Deyette both of Chicopee, and a sister Cecelia Robideau of Virginia Beach, VA.  In addition she leaves behind her five grandchildren Jay, Jeremy and Kevin Hurley, Jessica and James Geoffroy. Funeral Services will assemble 9am Tuesday at the Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway, Chicopee. Mass at 10am in St. Patrick's Church with burial to follow in St. Patrick?s Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Monday from 3-7pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Alida's memory to the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital PO BOX 420 W. Springfield, MA. 01080 or to the VNA and Hospice of Western New England, 50 Maple St. PO BOX 9058 Springfield, MA. 01102.
