Alvina E. Brisbois 1924 - 2005 CHICOPEE- Alvina E. (Gosselin) Brisbois, 80, formerly of 27 Mitchell Dr., died Saturday in Wingate at Wilbraham. Born in Springfield, She was educated in Chicopee Schools and had been a life long resident of Chicopee, living in Chicopee Falls, and later the Fairview section of Chicopee. Alvina was a sales clerk at the former Lamica Jewelers at the Springfield Plaza for 18 years, and later worked for Simards Jewelry Store, in Holyoke. Afterwards, she was a Home Health Care Provider in the Chicopee area. She was a former communicant of St. Anne's Church, Fairview, and St. George's Church, Chicopee. She enjoyed and taught roller-skating, and her brother, the late Joseph Gosselin, was the first Chicopee native to die in WWII, serving aboard the USS Arizona at Pearl Harbor when the Japanese attacked. Alvina leaves two sons, Gary Brisbois and his wife Karen of West Brookfield, Ma, Charles Brisbois and his wife Gail of Grand Isle, Vt, a daughter Lynn Brisbois of Chicopee, a brother Leon Gosselin of Holiday, Florida, a sister Rita Renna of Hazardville, Ct., six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles W. Brisbois in 1962, and a daughter Leslie Ann Kijak in 1991. Funeral Wednesday at 10 AM at the Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway, Chicopee, followed by a mass at 11 AM in St. George Church, 7 Belcher St., Chicopee.
