Andrew Walter Matson

Andrew W. Matson 1919-2011 CHICOPEE- Andrew W. Matson, of 82 Riverview Terrace in Chicopee, died Monday, November 7th, at Baystate Medical Center, Springfield. Born in Lexington on July 4th he lived in Chicopee most of his life. He was a graduate of Chicopee High School in 1936 and of Bentley College in 1940. He served in the Army during WWII and worked as an industrial and mfg. engineer. He was a lifetime member of Mensa, and a member of the Elks Club and Senior Center of Chicopee. He leaves two daughters, Rosanne M. Welshimer of NY, and Kathryn J. Rae of Florida, four grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter Elizabeth A. Matson who died in July 2010. Calling hours will be held at the Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway, Chicopee, Friday from 2-3:30pm followed by a service in the parlor.
