Anna Marchacos

Springfield- Anna (Palivas) Marchacos, 84 passed away on October 5, 2006 at Baystate Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Anna was born in Chicopee on December 25, 1921, a daughter of the late Peter and Jane (Pappas) Palivas. As a lifelong resident of Chicopee, she also graduated from Chicopee High School. Anna was a member of St. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church. She was employed for many years for the F.W. Sickle Company and the Jerold Electronics. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved husband, Harry Marchacos, and one brother, Chris Palivas, and one sister, Helen Metatos, and one son-in-law, Peter Bergin. She is survived by her devoted children, one son, Alexander Marchacos of Becket, MA., and one daughter, Jane Bergin of Chicopee, two loving sisters, Sophie Lingley of Fairfield, CT., and Esther Young of Enfield, CT., and three cherished grandchildren, Tammie Cypek and her husband Jeremie of Chicopee, Alexander H. Marchacos and his wife Emily of Westfield, and Eric Marchacos of Becket, and one loving great-granddaughter, Haylie Cypek of Chicopee. Anna's funeral will be held on Tuesday at 9:45A.M from the Tylunas Funeral Home 159 Broadway, Chicopee, followed by a service in St. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church 30 Grattan Street, Chicopee at 11A.M. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to the calling hours on Monday from 4-8P.M. at the funeral home.
