Arthur E. Daigneau 1919 - 2006 AGAWAM-Arthur E. "Art" Daigneau, 86, of 18 Royal St., died Tuesday in Mercy Hospital, Springfield. Born & educated in Feeding Hills, Art was a graduate of Agawam High School, and received his degree in 1951 in business and personnel administration from the United Services Arm Forces Institute. He was a sales representative and management consultant for Shawnee Concrete Products for 16 years prior to retirement. Art was a Navy Veteran of WWII and the Korean War, and was the Golden Gloves light middleweight boxer of the 7th Fleet. He was a communicant of St. Anthony's All Saints Parish, a member of the Agawam Lions Club, a former Agawam auxiliary policeman, and was a DJ at the Agawam High School dances and record hops. Art leaves his wife of 62 years, the former Yolanda L. DeGeorge, two sons, Alan A. Daigneau and his wife Ruth of Granville, and Thomas G. Daigneau of Agawam, six grandchildren, Julie Barnes and her husband Brian, Jeanne Daigneau, Noreen Ruth Becker and her husband Nathanial, Joanne Fox and her husband Mathew, Jeffrey Thomas Daigneau, & Michael Patrick Daigneau, four great grandchildren, Nathan & Grace Barnes, and Zander & Devon Fox, two sisters, Priscilla Violet & Marie McDonnell, both of West Springfield, and a special son, John G. Doyle of Springfield. Funeral Friday at 9:30 AM from the Colonial-Forastiere Funeral Home, 985 Main St., Agawam, followed by a mass at 10:30 AM in St. Anthony All Saints Parish, 108 Bridge St., Agawam.
