Arthur M. Macdonald

Arthur M. MacDonald Jr. 1933-2010 CHICOPEE- Arthur "Artie" M. MacDonald Jr., 77, of Chicopee and formerly of South Hadley, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, May 8, 2010 in Willimansett Nursing Home-East. He was born in Springfield on April 28, 1933, a son of the late Arthur M. and Marion (Dion) MacDonald. Arthur attended Springfield schools and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a clerk for the U.S. Postal Service in South Hadley for 30 years, retiring in 1994. Besides his parents, Arthur was predeceased by his brother, Kenneth MacDonald. Arthur is survived by a sister, Barbara Giguere and her husband Ernie of Chicopee; a brother, Raymond MacDonald and his wife Ann of Westfield; a sister-in-law, Shirley MacDonald of Chicopee; and aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. A funeral home service will be held on Friday, May 14th at 10 a.m. in the Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway, Chicopee, with Rites of Committal and burial to follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, 1601 State St., Springfield. Arthur's family will receive relatives and friends at the visiting hours on Thursday, May 13th from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
