Barbara A. Hall 1941- 2006 CHICOPEE- Barbara Ann (Brick) Hall, 65, a longtime area resident and nurse was called safely home on Monday, May 29, 2006 surrounded by her loving family. Barbara was born in Springfield, February 22, 1941 a daughter of the late Thomas J. and Anne Shea Brick. Barbara was educated in St. Mary's Elementary School of Westfield and graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1958. Barbara furthered her education at Mercy Hospital School of Nursing and graduated 2nd in her class of 1961 as a Registered Nurse. She began her lifelong career in nursing as a staff nurse before working as a private duty nurse for the former Springfield Professional Nurses Registry. Barbara worked faithfully for many years with the nurse's registry where she became the Treasurer and a member of the Board of Directors. Barbara most recently was working for Goodwill as a nurse for several years before retiring due to her illness. Barbara fought a long and courageous battle with cancer due in part to the support of her family and friends. Barbara married Robert L. Hall, November 23, 1961 at St. Mary's Church and the couple were blessed to have celebrated 44 years in a loving relationship. Barbara enjoyed reading, traveling, camping and the outdoors but especially loved spending time with her family. In addition to her loving husband, Barbara is survived by her four sons, Bob A. Hall and his wife Diane of Chicopee; Kevin M. Hall of Chicopee; Daniel T. Hall and his wife Michele of Ludlow; Christopher J. Hall of Palmer; a sister, Mary Theresa Furcolo of Westfield; two brothers, Thomas J. Brick of Hatfield; William Brick of Florida; three cherished grandsons, Robert, Andrew and Zachary; and a cherished granddaughter, Rebecca. She was predeceased by a sister, Anne Marie Malachowski. A funeral service will be held on Friday June 2nd at 9 am from the Tylunas Funeral Home 159 Broadway, Chicopee, MA 01020 followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Patrick's Church, 319 Broadway, Chicopee. The Rite of Committal will be held in St. Mary's Cemetery, Southampton Rd., Westfield, MA. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 4-7:30 pm.
