Bertha Kasza

Bertha V. Kasza 1919-2003 Chicopee- Bertha V. (Michon) Kasza, 83, died Thursday May 15th at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield. Born in Chicopee on November 5, 1919 the daughter of the late Sebastian and Veronica (Knapp) Michon. A life long resident of Chicopee, she attended Chicopee schools and was employed as a seamstress at the Nixon Company. Bertha is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 63 years, Chester Kasza, a daughter, Carol J. Kasza-Miller of North Wildwood, N.J. a son. John C. Kasza and his wife Joanne of Chicopee, a sister, Jane O'Brien and her husband Thomas of Chicopee, nine grandchildren, Kim, Lisa, Ronald, Erik, Deborah, Kevin, Heather, Kellie and Amanda, 10 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents Bertha was predeceased by her daughter Patricia K. Williams, two brothers, John and Joseph Michon and a sister Mary Sullivan.  A funeral home service will be Sunday evening at 8 p.m. at the Tylunas Funeral Home 159 Broadway, with visitation preceding the service from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Burial will be Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Cemetery all in Chicopee.
