SPRINGFIELD- Catherine "Kitt" A. (Stawarz) Vivenzio, 90, a life long Springfield resident, entered into eternal rest on Sunday July 23, 2006 at Chapin Center Nursing Home in Springfield. Kitt was born in St. Joseph, Missouri, on January 26, 1916, the daughter of the late Albert and Catherine (Kozah) Stawarz. She attended Springfield schools, and was a communicant of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church and a member of the South End Golden Age Club. Kitt worked at Stewarts Commissary and Performance, both in Springfield. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Andrew T. Vivenzio on February 14, 1983; a son, Richard G. Vivenzio in 1988; a daughter-in-law, Julianna Vivenzio in 1997; a grandson, Vincent Vivenzio in 1971; and two sisters, Angi Candido and Caroline Spedding. Kitt is survived by her two sons, Albert A. and his wife Judi and Donald T. and his wife Jean, all of Springfield; two grandchildren, Anthony Vivenzio of Orlando, FL and Dawn Vandevanter and her husband Mark of Suffield, CT; a great-grandson, Cole John Vandevanter; a brother, Chester Stawarz of Portsmouth, NH; three sisters, Frances Mayr of Magnolia, MA, Mary Weiser of Chicago, IL, and Genevieve Sonoski of Chicopee; and many nieces, nephews and close friends. All funeral services are private. A public memorial service will be announced at a later date and will be held in Sacred Heart Church, 359 Chestnut St., Springfield. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Kitt's memory to the Sacred Heart Church Roof Fund, 359 Chestnut St., Springfield, MA 01104.
