Cecilia C. Dort                                                                       1909-2007   Chicopee- Cecilia "Nana" C. (Cashin) Dort, 97, entered into eternal rest on Friday March 23, 2007 in Birch Manor Nursing Home in Chicopee. She was born in Nova Scotia, Canada on August 6, 1909 a daughter of the late John E. and Annie C. (Boudreau) Cashin. Cecilia was a communicant and very active member of Holy Name of Jesus Church in Chicopee. She was an amazing seamstress and made most of her own cloths. Cecilia was well known for her biscuits "Nana's Biscuits" locally and around the world. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter D. Dort; and a son, Richard D. Dort. Cecilia is survived by her daughter, Barbara A. Gaouette and her husband Alan of Chicopee; a daughter-in-law, Irene Dort of Springfield; five grandchildren, Cheryl, Donna, Ricky, Grace, and Raquelle; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service with Rites of Committal will be held on Tuesday March 27th at 11 a.m. in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Fuller Road, Chicopee. There are no visiting hours.
