Cecilia V. Smith-Jarrett                                                                   1914-2005 CHICOPEE- Cecilia V. (Perreault) Smith-Jarrett, 90, died Friday September 16, 2005 at Willimansett East Nursing Home in a Chicopee. A life long resident of Springfield, she moved to Chicopee in 1981, and was a former resident of Falls View Apartments. Cecilia was born in Bedford, Quebec, Canada on November 11, 1914 the daughter of the late George and Victoria (Caron) Perreault. She attended Springfield schools and graduated in 1932 from the High School of Commerce. She was a former member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Springfield, and the Loyal Order of Moose Women's Auxiliary # 1849 in Chicopee. Cecilia was predeceased by her first husband, Bernard E. Smith in 1961, and a son, Bernard E. Smith, Jr. She is survived by her second husband, Raymond E. Jarrett of Chicopee, her children, Mary V. Gosselin of Springfield, Josephine L Elias of McMinnville, OR, Paul A. Smith of Chicopee, Margaret S. Yergeau of Chicopee, Helen M. Hyte of Springfield, Peter F. Smith of Indian Orchard, and Joan M. Gales of Corinth, TX, 12 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. A funeral home service will be held on Wednesday September 21st at 11 a.m. at the Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway, Chicopee, with Rites of Committal to follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, 1601 State St., Springfield. Cecilia's family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday prior to the service from 9-11 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
