Claire Alice Houlihan

Claire Alice Houlihan 1929-2005 Chicopee - Claire A. Houlihan, 76, formerly of 458 Broadway, was called safely home on Thursday, December 15, 2005, at the Mountainview Health Care Center in Montgomery.   She was born in New Bedford, December 15, 1929, the daughter of the late Romeo and Flora Bergeron.  Claire was a longtime employee at Baybank and retired as a trust officer in 1994.  Claire was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church and enjoyed many years as a member of the "Chic Mates" Square Dance Club.  Claire is survived by her son, Kevin Houlihan, and wife Christine, of Oakland RI; her daughters, Karen Chaffee, and husband Bill, of Montgomery; Cathy Houlihan-Herold, and husband Bob, of Rye, NH; her brother Deacon Leo Bergeron, and wife Jackie, of Chicopee; and Claire's grandchildren Sara, Andrea, Justin, Kevin, Jeffrey and Alexandra.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Claire was predeceased by a son, Michael L. in 2004 and was also predeceased by a brother Pete Bergeron and a sister, Theresa Fitzpatrick. A Funeral service will be held in Chicopee on Tuesday, 9 am, at the Tylunas Funeral Home followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial, 10 am, at St. Patrick's Church.  The Rites of Committal will take place at the St. Patrick's Cemetery on Fuller Road.  Claire's family will receive friends on Monday from 5-8pm at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial  donations in her name may be made to the Residents Council Fund at Mountianview Health Care Center, 46 Main Rd. Montgomery, MA 01085.
