Diane Marie Richard

Diane M. Richard 1958 - 2006 CHICOPEE- Diane Marie Richard, 48, was called safely home on Thursday Nov. 2, 2006 after a long courageous battle with illness. Diane was born in Holyoke on March 24, 1958, a daughter of the late Donald R. Richard who entered eternal rest in June of 2004 and her mother and best friend, Lorraine (Lebeau) Richard of Westfield. Diane had recently moved to Westfield and had been residing in Chicopee for the last six years and was an Amherst resident for over 14 years.  Diane was educated locally and had worked for several years in the deli department at Big Y in Willimansett. Diane was also employed at Hal Mar Distributors for several years. Diane had the unique ability to turn a plain stick into a work of art. She enjoyed crafts, needlework, crocheting and knitting. Her work was frequently sold in many local hospitals and also gave her tremendous joy to share her love and compassion for others. Diane had always placed her others first, especially children and her devotion will continue to be a guiding light for those she leaves behind. In addition to her mother, Dianne leaves her twin children, Scott G. Richard and Matt J. Richard both of Westfield; her two loving brothers, Robert D. Richard of Chicopee, Michael J. Richard of Chicopee; her two grandchildren, Myarcles and Nyari and her devoted niece and nephews, Kelsey, Michael and Tiffany Richard. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 10 am from the Tylunas Funeral Home 159 Broadway, Chicopee, MA 01020 followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 am in Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 780 Chicopee Street. The Rite of Committal will be held in Notre Dame Cemetery, Lyman Street, South Hadley, MA 01075. Calling hours are Monday evening from 4-8 pm.
