Dolores L. Brown

Dolores L. McCurdy-Brown 1932-2007   Springfield- Dolores Lorraine (Schmid) McCurdy-Brown, 74, of Springfield and formerly of San Diego, CA, entered into eternal rest on Thursday October 11, 2007 at home surrounded by her loving and devoted family. Dolores was born in Salem, OR, on November 26, 1932 the daughter of the late Otto and Lorraine (LeMire) Schmid. She was a former Registered Nurse at Scripts Memorial Hospital in La Jolla CA. Dolores was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church in Ludlow. She was a member of the Lady Elks in San Diego, CA, and Emblem Club in Chula Vista, CA. Dolores was a life time member of the American Legion, VFW, and Moose Lodge, all in Chula Vista, CA. She was predeceased by her first husband, Emmit W. McCurdy in 1999 and her second husband, Robert T. Brown in 2005. Dolores is survived by her four children, Diana M. Drapeau and her husband Norman of Springfield, MA, Robert T. McCurdy and his wife Becky of Kansas, Michael P. McCurdy and his wife Kathy of Alabama, and Kimberly D. McCurdy of Springfield; a step-daughter, Donna Cooper of California; a brother, Gerald Schmid and his wife Moe of San Diego, CA; a chosen sister, Joan Kashner of San Diego, CA; 11 grandchildren, Tammy, Nicole, Danielle, Robert Jr., Cynthia, Heather, Mikayla, Corcynthia, Emmit, Shandella, and Eian; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends in Springfield and California. Funeral services will assemble on Monday October 15th at 10:30 a.m. at the Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway, Chicopee, MA, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 12 p.m. in St. John the Baptist Church, 181 Hubbard St., Ludlow. Rites of Committal and entombment will be held in Inglewood Park Cemetery, Inglewood, CA,. Dolores's family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home for visiting hours on Sunday October 14th from 2-4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dolores's memory to  St. John the Pastoral Center, 181 Hubbard St., Ludlow, MA 01056 or Life Care of Wilbraham, 2399 Boston Rd., Springfield, MA.
