Dorothy G. Howell

Dorothy G. Howell 1917 -2010 Chicopee - Mrs. Dorothy G. (Stewart) Howell, 92, passed peacefully with her children by her side on Friday, April 16 at Mercy Medical Center.  She was born in Kingston, PA on November 13, 1917, a daughter of the late Edward and Minnie (Steele) Stewart.  She attended schools in Pennsylvania and was a sixty six year Chicopee resident.  "Dot" loved to bake for her family, friends, and her church.  She will be remembered as a wonderful loving "Nana" and will be sadly missed by her family and friends.  She was the wife of the late David Howell who died on October 20, 1976.  She is survived by her son David and his wife Suzanne, of Williamsburg, two daughters, Sandra Howell-Chaffee and her husband Dennis, Sr. of Hampden, and Marilyn Bushey and her husband Albert of Chicopee.  She also leaves thirteen grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by seven brothers and sisters.  The funeral procession will form on Wednesday, April 21at 9am at the Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway, Chicopee, followed by a Service of Remembrance at 10am.  Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.  Calling hours at the funeral home are on Tuesday, April 20 from 4 to 7pm.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Dorothy's name may be directed to the Federated Community Church, 590 Main St., Hampden, MA 01036.  Please visit www.tylunasfuneralhome.com for directions and an online guestbook.
