Douglas A. Gray1929-2015Douglas A. Gray went home to be with the Lord on December 14, 2015. He was born in Chicopee on May 14, 1929 to the late Alfred and Catherine Gray. Doug leaves behind his loving wife, Margaret Widlund Gray; four children, Peggy Gray and her husband John Betz of Columbia, MO, Douglas Gray and his wife Cheryl of Granby, MA, Bruce Gray and his wife Julie of East Windsor, CT, Scott Gray of Somers, CT; and six grandchildren, Marty, Matthew, Amy, Nicholas, Billy, and Christine. He was a 1946 graduate of Chicopee High School and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1948, serving until 1952. Doug owned & operated Mack's Super Service gas station in Chicopee for several years before pursuing his degree in education. He began his educational career with the Chicopee school system as a vocational teacher and later became a vocational director until his retirement in 1995. Doug enjoyed model aviation and spending time with his family. He was an active member of Harvest Bible Chapel in Ludlow and of First Central Baptist Church for decades where he served as a deacon, choir member, usher, and building committee member. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at 10:30am directly at the First Central Baptist Church, 50 Broadway, Chicopee. Calling hours will be held on Monday, December 21st from 6-8pm at Tylunas Funeral Home 159 Broadway, Chicopee.
