Earl J. Benoit

CHICOPEE-Earl J. Benoit, 83 of Sheridan Street, passed away peacefully at his home in the early hours of Friday, August 21, 2020. Earl was born in Springfield on July 15, 1937, the son of the late Walter G. and Viola (Boudreaux) Benoit. He was raised in Chicopee, graduating from local schools. Earl was a US Navy Veteran, serving in the Naval reserves and was deployed during the Bay of Pigs in 1961.  He worked for National Blank Book as a machinist over 25 years until his retirement. Earl was a long time member of the Mason and Shriners in East Longmeadow and life member of the Chicopee Sportsmen's club. Earl was predeceased by his wife, Irene (Giroux) Benoit. He was also predeceased by a brother, Walter G. Benoit Jr. He leaves his longtime partner, Gale Cook. His children; Denise Benoit and Susan Wiater both of Chicopee and Arthur Benoit of South Carolina His siblings; Elaine Jones of Belchertown and Pearl Charland of Ormond Beach, FLA., two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 from 9 to11:00 a.m. at Tylunas Funeral home, 159 Broadway St., Chicopee followed by a religious Service at the Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Fuller Rd., Chicopee.
