Edna C. (Peltier) Darcy 1912-2004 Chicopee- Edna C. (Peltier) Darcy, 92, of this city died October 1, 2004, at Willimansett East Nursing Center. Born in Holyoke, Edna was the daughter of the late Euclid J. and Rose (Gagne) Peltier, and was a 1929 graduate of Chicopee High School, and also a 1931 graduate of Fitchburg State Teachers College, Fitchburg, Mass. She was a parishioner of St. George Church, Chicopee. Her beloved husband Armand F. Darcy to whom she was married to for 42 years predeceased her in 1977, a son David predeceased her in 1945, and a daughter Joanne Hewes predeceased her in 2003. Mrs. Darcy is survived by 2 sons Emile A. Darcy, Frank Darcy and his wife Joanne both of Chicopee, 1 daughter Virginia Nehring and her husband Ludolph of Chicopee, a sister May P. Doty of Chicopee, a son in law Retired Colonel William Thomas Hewes, U.S.M.C., of East Hartland, Conn. a nephew Howard Alan Doty of Westfield, 6 grandchildren Scott Darcy, Sara Darcy, Samantha Darcy, Karen (Matosky ) Johnson and her husband George, Kristen (Matosky) Magnacca and her husband Mark, Elizabeth (Hewes) Zarrone and her husband Arthur, 6 great grandchildren George E. Johnson IV, Abigail Rose Johnson, Nicholas A. Magnacca, Grace Rose Magnacca, Jordan Zarrone and Jacob Zarrone, a sister in law Lillian "Dolly" Darcy, and a brother in law Harold E. Darcy, both of Chicopee, many other nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Monday 9:00 AM from the Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway, Chicopee, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial, celebrated at 10 :00AM. in St. George Church , 7 Belcher Street, Chicopee. Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Chicopee. The family will receive friends for calling hours at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 PM.
