Edna M. Stefanik 1915-2011 CHICOPEE- Edna M. (Brown-Parent) Stefanik, 96, passed away Thursday, October 27th at Mercy Hospital. She was born on February 13th, 1915, the daughter of the late Perlie Brown and Josephine Brown (Kubik), sister to the late Irene Barnet (Brown). She grew up in West Springfield and graduated from West Springfield High School; she then moved to Chicopee where she was a longtime resident. She worked for Steigers in Springfield and then Smith & Wesson in Springfield for many years, before she retired. She was an active volunteer for 15 years for the Chicopee Retired Senior Volunteer Program. She loved crossword puzzles, reading and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Edward W. Parent and is survived by her daughter Elaine O'Toole (Parent). She leaves her grandchildren, Diane and her husband Michael McDonald of Belchertown, Deborah O'Toole of Chicopee and Karen Fernandes of Granby. She also leaves her great-grandchildren Jason, Tiffany, Justin, Desiree and Brittany, as well as her niece Patricia Dittert from North Babylon, cousins from New York and Connecticut, and many loving friends. Calling Hour Tuesday, November 1st, from 9-10 am at Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway Street, Chicopee, MA. Mass immediately following at 11:00 am at Saint Anne's Church 30 College Street, Chicopee MA. Rites of Committal to follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, Kings Highway, West Springfield.
