Edward "Poppy" Albert Ladue

Chicopee - Edward Albert "Poppy" Ladue, 67, a lifelong resident of Chicopee,  passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2006 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Born in Holyoke on May 26, 1939, he was a son of the late Napolean and Antoinette (Moran) Ladue. Edward attended the Chicopee school system and he was a parishioner of St. Patrick's Church in Chicopee. He proudly served our country in the United States Navy from 1956-1960. He was employed at Sterling Tool in Chicopee for many years as a machinist. Edward was an avid Boston Bruins fan for many years. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one son, Mark G. Ladue in October 2000, and one sister, Roslind Szysco. He is survived by his beloved wife of forty-six years, Carol (Dziengelewski) Ladue of Chicopee, five devoted children, David E. Ladue and his wife Alexandra of Chicopee, Edward N. Ladue and his wife Tammy of Hatton, North Dakota, Catherine J. Yarrows and her husband Patrick of Springfield, Donna J. Paquette and her husband Michael of Chicopee, and Cynthia J. Pronovost and her husband John of Granby, MA., four brothers, Arthur Ladue and his wife Barbara, Napolean Ladue and his wife Eileen of Ludlow, Nelson Ladue and his wife Carol of Trumbull, CT., and Wayne Ladue and Diane of Georgia, two sisters, Claire Stroup and her husband William of Oklahoma, and Sheila Ladue, he also leaves twelve cherished grandchildren, Alicia, Stephen, Michael, Erica, Jillian, Cassidy, Cameron, Claire, Jonathan, Christopher, Olivia and Jordan. His funeral will be held on Monday at 8:45 A.M. from the Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway, Chicopee, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10A.M. in St. Patrick's Church 319 Broadway, Chicopee. Rites of Committal will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Chicopee. Family and friends are invited to the calling hours on Sunday from 5-7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Hospice Lifer Care, 28 Appleton Street, Holyoke, MA 01040 or the American Red Cross Pioneer Valley Chapter, 506 Cottage Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
