Edward A. "Ed" Baranowski, 90, formerly of Woodmont St. in Springfield passed away on Saturday evening at Mercy Hospital in Springfield. Ed was born in Easthampton on October 28, 1926 the son of the late Alexander and Mary Baranowski, Polish immigrants. He was raised in Easthampton and attended schools there. Ed worked for Moore Drop Forge in Springfield for many years, retiring in 1970. Ed was a communicant of St. Patrick's church in Chicopee. He faithfully attended Mass; especially Saturday afternoon's and was a longtime Collector. His devoted companion, Janet (Rogers) Moreau passed away in 2003. He is survived by Janet's family who called him their "Dziadziu"; Jill Maleko and her husband Bernard of Chicopee, who was his caregiver and with whom he had lived with since 2016, Gail Moreau of Pittsburgh, PA. and Dana Moreau and his wife Deb of Rome, NY. and several grandchildren. At Ed's request there are no calling hours. The family invites you to join them on Thursday (July 13, 2017) directly at St. Patrick's RC Church, 319 Broadway in Chicopee at 10:00 A.M. to celebrate the Liturgy of Christian Burial with Fr. Dariusz Wudarski, Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Rose Cemetery in Aldenville. Donations in Ed's memory may be made to St. Patrick's Church, 319 Broadway St., Chicopee, Ma. 01020. Tylunas Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
