EDWARD A. JAGLA, SR. 1920 ~ 2008 CHICOPEE- Edward A. Jagla, Sr. 87, died at home surrounded by his loving family on Monday, December 1. He was born in Holyoke on December 30, 1920, the son of the late Andrew and Bronislawa (Mrowiczka) Jagla. He was a life long Chicopee resident and attended local schools. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Navy during WWII and was a life member of American Legion Post 353 and a member of the Pulaski Club. He also loved deep sea fishing and hunting and was an active member of the West Springfield Fish and Game Club and a former Boy Scout leader in Chicopee. He and the love of his life and best friend, Adele, loved to travel and Polka dancing to various local bands around the area. He retired after thirty five years of service as a machinist from Hamilton Standard. He will be sadly missed by his beloved wife of sixty two years, Adele (Tenczar) Jagla, two grandchildren, Heather Granger and Edward Jagla III, and three great grandchildren, Rebecca and Zachary Jagla, and Colin Granger and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves four sisters, Emily Champagne, Wanda Martel, and Helen Ashe, all of Chicopee, and Lottie Boduch of Wilbraham. He was predeceased by his son, Edward A. Jagla, Jr. on July 29, 2000. Relatives and friends are invited to gather for a 9:30am Liturgy of Christian Burial at St. Patrick's Church, 319 Broadway, Chicopee Falls, on Saturday, December 6. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the church or Sunshine Village, 75 Litwin Lane, Chicopee, MA01020. The Tylunas Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
