Eleanor A. Steenland1919-2014Eleanor A. (Stralkowski) Steenland, 94, of Chicopee, passed away Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Country Estates of Agawam. Born in Bronx, NY on September 14, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Francis and Mary (Wiatr) Stralkwoski. Eleanor served as a sergeant in the United States Army during WWII. She worked at McGraw Hill Inc. for over 18 years as a human resources personal. She loved Bingo and was a part of the Springfield Hobby Club. Eleanor was predeceased by her husband Martin A. Steenland in 1963. She leaves her daughter Kristin E. Heisler and her husband Michael of Holyoke; her two grandsons Mitchell and Collin Heisler; her best friend Agnes; and many nieces and nephews. Eleanor was also predeceased by all of her siblings. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 from 5-7pm at Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway, Chicopee. Burial will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at 10am in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St., Agawam.
