Elfriede M. Cote 1936-2010 CHICOPEE - Elfriede M. (Denker) Cote, 74, of Chicopee, entered into eternal rest in the loving presence of her family on Tuesday, November 16, 2010.  Born in Dessau, Germany and a long time resident of Chicopee, she was the daughter of the late Johann and Martha Denker.  Elfriede was a retired employee of the Chicopee School Department.  She was a crossing guard and noon mother.  She was very active in the Springfield Turnverein Club of Feeding Hills.  She was the chief cook and catering person there for many years participating in the October Fest festivities and volunteering for Sunday bingo.  The kitchen facilities at Springfield Turnverein were dedicated to her earlier this month.  Elfriede loved and enjoyed her family with special attention to her grandchildren.  She loved to cook and enjoyed gardening and knitting.  She had a keen interest in watching sporting events on television and was an avid Red Sox fan.  Elfriede was predeceased by her husband, Dennis Cote who passed in 2005.  She leaves her son, Scott M. Cote and his wife Carla; her daughter, Joann McCallum and her husband Michael; four grandchildren, Wil, Casey, Aaliyah, and Cassie McCallum all of Chicopee; brothers-in-law Gille Cote and his wife Lynn of Montreal, Canada and Remi Cote and his wife Colleen of Ludlow.  Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 19, 2010 at the Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway, Chicopee, at 9:30 a.m.  Burial will follow in the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Agawam.  Calling hours will be held at the Tylunas Funeral Home on Thursday, November 18, 2010 from 4 to 7 p.m.
