Ernest O. Giguere

Ernest O. Giguere1931-2012CHICOPEE- Ernest "Ernie" O. Giguere, 80, was a superintendent for TA Pearson Assoc. in West Springfield, MA from 1948 until he retired in January of 1997. He was born in Chicopee, and lived there most of his life. Ernie was an Army Corporal in the Korean War. He was a member of the Carpenters Union Local 108 and was a lifetime member having completed 50 years of continuous service. Ernie leaves behind his sweetheart, Shirley A. MacDonald; a daughter, Cheryl A. Strani; a daughter, Donna L. M. Cole and her husband Jerry; a son, Gary A. Giguere and his wife Diane; a daughter, Susan A. Chouinard and her husband Steve; two brothers, Richard A. and Edgar T. Giguere, both of Chicopee; a cousin, Theresa Bisson of Guilford, CT; five grandchildren, Stephanie, Tricia, Stevie, Alley, and Cam; a great-granddaughter, Aubrey; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Robert J. Giguere; a granddaughter, Alison M. Hay; and his wife of almost 50 years, Barbara L. Giguere. A Funeral home service will be held on Friday, May 25th at 10 a.m. in the Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway St., Chicopee, with Rites of Committal to follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, 1601 State St., Springfield. Ernie's family will receive relatives and friends at the gathering on Thursday, May 24th from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
