Ernest R. Theriault 1918 - 2003 Ernest R.(Ernie) Theriault 85, of Chicopee died Wednesday April 23, in Mercy Medical Center, Springfield. Ernest was employed by Spaulding World Wide Sports in Chicopee for 15 years in the tennis department as a tennis racket stringer. He was also employed as a woodworker for 25 years by Hendron's Box Company formerly of Chicopee and Springfield. Born in Chicopee on March 18, 1918 the son of the late Ernest and Florence (Berneche) Theriault he lived in West Springfield and has been a resident of Chicopee for the past 47 years and was a communicant of St. George's Church, Chicopee. He attended Assumption School, West Springfield Grammar School and West Springfield High School. He served his country during W.W. II with the United States Army attaining the rank of Corporal. He received the American Theater Ribbon, 4 Overseas bars, and 1 Service Star. Ernest was predeceased by a sister Lillian Charland. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Dorilla (Blanchard) Theriault. A son; Paul and his wife Andrea Theriault of Chicopee. A daughter; Diane and her husband Gerald Landry of Chicopee. A brother; Norman Theriault of West Springfield A sister; Florence LaPalme of Chicopee. Pepe of; Joseph Theriault, Gregory Landry, and Mark Landry. Ernest's funeral will be Saturday morning 9:00 A.M at Tylunas Funeral Home 159 Broadway Chicopee followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M. in St. George's Church, Chicopee. Burial in St. Rose de Lima Cemetery, Chicopee. Visiting hours are Saturday morning from 8:30 to 9:30 A.M.
