Ervin H. Meimerstorf, 88, of Sherwood Drive passed away on Monday, Oct. 24, 2022 at Care One Nursing Home after a brief illness. Poppy as family and friends knew him as, was born in London, AK, a son of the late Henry A. and Margaret (Clements) Meimerstorf. He was raised in Arkansas and attended local schools. Poppy moved to the area in his youth and had resided in Granby for the past 60 years. He was the beloved husband of Shirley (Norton) Meimerstorf. Ervin was the owner of Happy Days Remodeling and enjoyed his work immensely He also worked previously for O'Connor Lumber and Boeing Aircraft at Westover AFB. Ervin was a member of the Fox Hill Riders in Granby and as an avid fishermen, he was a member of the Chicopee Bass Club where many happy times were spent fishing with his family and buddies. He enjoyed golfing and bowling, but especially farming, a skill he learned from his father in Arkansas and that stayed with him his entire life. He was a longtime member of the Church of Christ in Granby. He was predeceased by his wife, Shirley, his son Leon and his siblings; Robert, Johnny, Kenneth, Bernice, Kathryn and Rosie. He leaves his son; Ervin G. Meimerstorf and his wife Jean, daughter Darlene A. Meimerstorf. His three grandchildren; Jonathan and Jeffrey Meimerstorf and Kristi Glenn and her husband Justin and one great grandchild, John Edward Glenn as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. A MEMORIAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD AT TYLUNAS FUNERAL HOME, 159 BROADWAY ST., CHICOPEE ON SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 5, 2022 AT 10:00 A.M. BURIAL OF HIS ASHES WILL IMMEDIATELY FOLLOW IN WEST ST.
