Ethel M. Lengieza

CHICOPEE - Ethel M. (Lapine) Lengieza, 96, of Chicopee was called to Heaven on Sunday, April 3, 2022, at Mercy Hospital. Ethel was born in Chicopee on May 27, 1925, a daughter of Harold and Rachel (Turner) Lapine. She was a lifelong resident, attending local schools, and graduated from Holy Name School. Ethel was a homemaker and loved raising her family and tending to her home. Ethel loved gardening and working in the yard. She enjoyed swimming, watching the Red Sox, reading, making puzzles and playing Scrabble. She especially loved spending time with her family. She was a communicant of Holy Mary Mother of Hope Church in Springfield and was a member of the former St. Patrick's church in Chicopee. In 1946 she married the love of her life, Alexander Lengieza and they had 57 years together. Ethel  is survived by her children;  sons Richard and Mark Lengieza (and Roxanne), both of Chicopee; and daughters, Barbara Bradley of Bradenton, FL. and Donna Lengieza of Chicopee; eight grandchildren, Pamela Sanchez, Michael Greska, Kimberly Reilly, Leah Davis, Mark Jr., John, and Jesse Lengieza and three great-grandchildren, Drew Greska and Samantha Pimental and Selena Sanchez. She was predeceased by her parents, her sister Lillian and her grandson Edward. Ethel always had a positive outlook on life and fought until the end. We were so very blessed to have her in our lives.

FAMILY AND FRIENDS ARE INVITED TO GATHER TO REMEMBER ETHEL ON TUESDAY, APRIL 12, 2022 AT TYLUNAS FUNERAL HOME, 159 BROADWAY ST., CHICOPEE FROM 11:00 A.M. TO 1:00 P.M. A FUNERAL HOME SERVICE WILL BE HELD AT 1:00 P.M. FOLLOWED BY INTERMENT OF HER ASHES AT 2:00 P.M. AT THE MASSACHUSETTS VETERAN'S MEMORIAL CEMETERY IN AGAWAM.
