Felipe Hoyos-Perdomo 1926-2011 CHICOPEE - Sergeant First Class, Felipe Hoyos-Perdomo, U. S. Army Retired, 84, of Chicopee, entered into eternal life on Sunday, January 30, 2011 in the loving presence of his family at home. Born in Comerio, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Monserrate Hoyos Melendez and Josefina Perdomo Colon. Felipe served his country with honor and distinction for over twenty years retiring from the U. S. Army as a sergeant first class in 1965. He was a veteran of World War II, Korea and the Vietnam Wars. He was a man who took great pride in his family and being with them and his beloved wife Juana whenever he could. He loved to travel and explore and appreciate the various countries and cultures he experienced. Felipe had a keen interest and appreciation for classical music. He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife Juana Hernandez Aponte Hoyos; his loving children Cruz Manuel DeJesus of Texas, Domingo DeJesus of Northampton, MA, Carmen DeJesus of North Carolina, Miriam Charles-Flores of Hartford, CT, Wilfredo DeJesus of Ware, MA, Sandra Hoyos and Bernice Hoyos both of Florida; a brother, Alberto Hoyos of Puerto Rico; (21) grandchildren and (10) great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway, Chicopee, on Friday, February 4, 2011 at 12:30 p.m. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Agawam. The family will receive relatives and friends at a gathering to be held at the Tylunas Funeral Home on Thursday, February 3, 2011 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.
