Frances Mary Palmieri

CHICOPEE- Frances Mary (Bierowka) Palmieri, 91, formerly of Swol Street in Chicopee passed away peacefully on June 27, 2017 at the Gardens of Roswell Assisted Living in Alpharetta, Georgia.  Frances was born in Chicopee on April 1, 1926, the daughter of the late John and Josephine (Dziok) Bierowka. She was raised and educated in Chicopee, attended local schools including Chicopee High School. Frances worked first for Chicopee Undergarment Company then U.S. Envelope before going to work for the Chicopee Public Schools. She enjoyed many years working in the School system and spending time with the students. A devoted catholic, Frances was a longtime communicant of St. Stanislaus Basilica and was very active in church affairs.  She loved working in the kitchen, cooking and baking and was of the "Pierogi workers".  She was an avid Bingo player. Her husband, Salvatore Palmieri passed away in 2000. Shortly after, Frances moved to Georgia in 2001, and lived with her daughter and son-in-law, where she met many new friends.   Recently and after a short illness, Frances convalesced at Gardens of Roswell.   She leaves her beloved daughter, Ann Marie Butler and her husband John of Alpharetta, GA. And her cherished grandson, Kevin Butler and her two adoring great grandchildren, Mia Butler and Dylan Butler. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. Frances was predeceased by her sister, Jenni Borrello and Helen Kaslawski and brothers, Stanley, Theodore, Mitzi and Leo.  Calling hours at the Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway St., Chicopee will be held on Sunday afternoon from 2-4 p.m. Funeral Services for Frances will be Monday morning from the Tylunas Funeral Home at 8:30 a.m. followed by a liturgy of Christian burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Basilica & Martyr Church. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
