Frank J. Ashe 1917 - 2003 Frank "Francis" J. Ashe 86, of Chicopee passed away Sunday August 24, 2003 at Baystate Medical Center, Springfield. He retired in 1980 from the R.M. Sullivan Transportation Company and previously had been employed at Western Express, and the Fisk Tire Company. Born in Chicopee on July 7, 1917 he was a lifelong resident of Chicopee and communicant of St. Patrick's Church. He was a veteran of W.W. II serving with the U.S. Army Air Corp and Army Infantry. His service included the Rhineland and Central Europe campaigns. He was a serious baseball fan, having observed countless games at Lincoln Grove from the comfort of his front porch. Frank was also an avid Red Sox fan and although he was alive when they last won a World Series, he always hoped to see their next championship. He was predeceased by 2 sisters Catherine A. Bagdasarian and Mary A. Lacey. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Helen P. (Hrycay) Ashe, A son: Michael P. Ashe and his wife Patricia of Springfield, 3 daughters: Christine Ashe of Coventry, CT. Eileen Ashe of Chicopee, Joann Goodale and her husband John of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. His grandchildren: Meghan, Maureen, and Kerry Ann Ashe , Amber and Jessica Goodale. Frank's funeral will be Wednesday morning 9:00 A.M. at the Tylunas Funeral Home 159 Broadway Chicopee followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M. in St. Patrick's Church, Chicopee. Burial in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Chicopee. Visiting hours are Tuesday from 5 to 8 P.M. Memorial contributions may be made to the MSPCA Shelter 71 Union Street Springfield, MA 01107.
