Frank A. Muscaro

Frank Anthony Muscaro 1920 ~ 2007   Springfield- Frank A. Muscaro, 87, was called safely home on Wednesday December 26, 2007. Frank was born in West Springfield, MA on August 11, 1920, a son of the late John and Catherina Luvera Muscaro. Frank was predeceased by his beloved wife, Lena "Babe" (Minichiello) Muscaro, on April 19, 1994. Frank was most recently employed as the head custodian at Mary O. Pottinger School retiring in 1985 after 22 years of service with the Springfield School Department. Prior to that, Frank was a custodian at Tapley School, Classical High School and Van Sickle School all in Springfield. Frank enjoyed spending time with his family and loved to cook and prepare homemade specialties for everyone. Frank was also a veteran, having served honorably with the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII as a dog handler. He participated in action in Okinawa, Ryukyo Islands in the Pacific Area. Frank was a member of the American Legion Post on Granby Road in Chicopee. Frank is survived by his daughter, Bella M. Hastie and her husband Glenn of Chicopee; a sister, Frances Mazzi of West Springfield; five adored grandchildren, David Corbin and his wife Lisa, Chris Corbin and his wife Theresa, Tom Corbin and his wife Katie, Frank Muscaro and his wife Trish, John Muscaro and his wife Jen; five cherished great grandchildren, Matthew, Nick and Nate Corbin, Michael Muscaro and Ben Corbin. Frank was also predeceased by his son, John Muscaro on October 7, 1997. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 AM in St. Mary's Church, 840 Page Blvd., Springfield, MA 01104. The burial will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, 1601 State St., Springfield. There are no calling hours.
