Fred M. Lichwan

Fred M. Lichwan 1942-2007   Chicopee- Fred M. Lichwan, 65, a life long Chicopee resident, entered into eternal rest on Sunday December 2, 2007 in Baystate Medical Center, Springfield. He was born in Chicopee on August 31, 1942 a son of the late Michael and Blanche (Sobaski) Lichwan. Fred graduated from Chicopee High School and retired from J.R. Lyman in Chicopee. He was a volunteer van driver for the Willimansett Nursing Home East. Fred was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church, and was a former member of the Knights of Columbus Elder Council 69 and the Tiger's AC, all in Chicopee. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Mildred "Millie" (Rea) Lichwan; three children, William T. Lanzillo and his wife Donna of Palmer, Lisa Marie Nelson of Springfield, and Scott D. Lanzillo and his wife Marie of Aberdeen, SD; four grandchildren, Aleyda, Yvette, Jessica and Julia; a brother, Paul Lichwan of West Springfield; three sisters, Wanda Dziadul of Ellington, CT, and Helen Nowak and Harriet Lichwan, both of Chicopee; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral home service will be held on Saturday December 8th at 12 p.m. at the Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway, Chicopee. Burial will be private. Visiting hours will precede the services on Saturday at the funeral home from 9a.m.-12p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Willimansett Nursing Home East Activities Fund, 11 St. Anthony St., Chicopee, MA 01013.
