Fumi Clark

January 25, 1932 — September 6, 2009

Fumi S. Clark 1932 - 2009   Chicopee - Fumi Sakurai Clark affectionately known as "Oba" on September 6, 2009, passed peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family.  She was a longtime resident of Chicopee MA originally from Tochigi, Japan.  Fumi was an active pioneer member of The Soka Gakkai International (SGI-USA) a nonprofit organization promoting world peace, culture and education through the principles of Nichiren Daishonin's Buddhism.  She enjoyed caring for and spending time with her seven grandchildren, cooking and gardening.  She will forever be deeply appreciated for her selfless commitment to her family.  She was predeceased by her husband David Clark in March of 1984.  She leaves behind her daughter Catherine A. Sears of Chicopee, her son Daniel J. Clark, daughter-in-law Diane of Stafford Springs, CT, son Robert D. Clark, Charmaine and Ashley Gazda of Chicopee and son John A. Clark, daughter-in-law Robin of Chicopee.  Fumi also leaves behind family members in Japan.  She'll be sadly missed by her devoted grandchildren Shannon LaPlante, husband Joseph, Sean Sears, Amy Clark, Amanda Clark, Matthew Clark, Timothy Clark and Emily Clark.  Calling hours Monday September 14th at the Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway, Chicopee from 4 to 8 p.m. with a memorial service from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.  Private burial at the convenience of the family.  Memorial contributions may be directed to: Soka Gakkai International U.S.A 7 East 15th St. New York, NY 10211-0456.  Please visit www.tylunasfuneralhome.com for directions and our online guestbook.   Tylunas Funeral Home 592-0148
