George Chagnon

George H. Chagnon 1900-2003 Chicopee - George H. Chagnon age 102 died Saturday at a local nursing home. He was born September 26, 1900 in St. Hyacinthe, Canada the son of the late Emile and Maria (LeFebvre) Chagnon. He has been a resident of Chicopee since the 1920's.  He retired with over forty years of service from Westinghouse as a supervisor. He was a past member of St. George's Church in Chicopee and a past member of the League of Sacred Heart. His wife Alma (Rainville) Chagnon predeceased him in 1980. He leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. A calling hour will be held from 8:30am to 9:30am Wednesday at the Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway, Chicopee. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10am in St. George Church. Burial to follow in St. Rose De Lima Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. George Church 7 Belcher St. Chicopee, MA. 01020.
