George G. Watson, Sr.       1912-2005 CHICOPEE- George "Joe" G. Watson, Sr., passed away peacefully on Friday October 21, 2005 at Heritage Hall East Nursing Home in Agawam. A life long resident of Chicopee, Joe was born in Ludlow on November 6, 1912 the son of the late James G. and Helen (Peddie) Watson. Joe retired from Savage Arms (the former Stevens Arms) in 1977 after 44 years of service. He attended Chicopee High School, was a communicant of St. Patrick?s Church in Chicopee and was an avid fisherman and hunter. Joe was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Kathryn P. (McQueen) Watson in 1991. He is survived by his two sons, Thomas Watson and his wife Gail of Chicopee, and George Watson, Jr. of Pocasset, MA, a daughter, Kathryn Bolton of Palmer, eight grandchildren, John, George and Jeffrey Bolton, George III, John and Robert Watson, and Tammy and Tara Watson, nine great-grandchildren, a sister, Mae Duvall of North Carolina, and two sisters-in-law, Frances and Doris Watson both of Agawam. Funeral services will assemble at the Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway, at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday October 25th with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, 319 Broadway, both in Chicopee, with Rites of Committal to follow in Hillcrest Park Cemetery, 895 Parker St., Springfield. Joe's family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the services on Tuesday from 8:30-9:30 a.m. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Marian Apostolate, c/o Franciscan Friars/Fr.
