Gertrude B. Kolek

PALMER-Gertrude B. (Fay) Kolek, 90, of Palmer, passed away peacefully at her home August 25, 2021. She was born in Chicopee MA on October 30, 1930. She attended Chicopee Public Schools and graduated from Chicopee High School and the Springfield Business School. She worked for the FW Sickles Company, Dielectrics, Gemini and the Chicopee Municipal Home. She was a member of the Chicopee Senior Center, The Beautiful Years Club and The Over 60 Club. Gertrude was an avid Jeopardy watcher and loved her books on tape. Gertrude is predeceased by her husband Edward Kolek of Chicopee, her parents Clarence and Clara Fay, three sisters, five brothers and grandchildren Laura and Zachary and her daughter, Kathleen. Gertrude leaves her children, Linda Renaud of Palmer, Jacqueline Grimshaw and her husband John Grimshaw of Palmer, her sons Edward Deforge of Chester, David Deforge and his wife Sherry Deforge of Jacksonville Fl and her step children Dr. Edward Kolek, Michael Kolek and Linda Graham. Gertrude was an amazing grandmother leaving behind her grandchildren  Joseph, Jeffrey, Rebecca, Krystal, Ryan, Alexis, Wayne,  Ally, Cody, Sarah, Cory, Jessica and many many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and lifelong friends the Hauff family.
