Gordon S. Robertson 1951-2010 SPRINGFIELD- Gordon "Gordy" S. Robertson, 59, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, September 23, 2010 in Kindred Hospital Parkview Springfield. Gordy was born on January 29, 1951 a son of the late Alexander and Janet (Knowles) Robertson. He was a U.S. Navy Vietnam Conflict veteran obtaining the rank of Seaman Apprentice. Gordy received the National Defense Service Medal. He was a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service for 37 years, retiring in 2008. Gordy was a member of the American Legion Post 420, and a member and past vice president of the Marconi Club in Springfield. He loved golf and was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. Gordy is survived by his best friend of 27 years and loving and devoted wife of 13 years, Judy L. Estell-Robertson; two children, Mark and Beth Robertson of North Carolina; two step-children, Leon III and Tina Estell of Springfield; a brother and sister, Scott and Gail Robertson of California; three grandchildren; an aunt, many cousins (the Pierson family of Springfield), several nieces and nephews, and many friends. A funeral home service will be held on Wednesday, September 29th at 11 a.m. in the Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway, Chicopee, with burial to follow in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St., Agawam. Gordy's family will receive relatives and friends at the visiting hours on Tuesday, September 28th from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Gordy's memory to Shriners Hospital for Children, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104.
