Hannelore Phipps

Hannelore Phipps 1926 ~ 2007   CHICOPEE-Hannelore "Hanna" (Moller) Phipps, 81, of 42 Julia Ave., died Tuesday, Dec. 18th, in Mercy Hospital.  Born and educated in Hamburg, Germany, Hanna emigrated to this country through England in 1954 and had been a resident of Chicopee for the past 44 years.   Hanna's children were the love of her life. She and her family, along with her late husband William A. Phipps, a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force (Retired) were stationed in Germany, New Jersey, France, and Kansas before settling in Chicopee.  She was a member of the Chicopee Golden Agers, enjoyed bowling and was an avid Bingo player.  Hanna enjoyed traveling, especially back to Hamburg, Germany to visit with her special friends, Ilse and Heine Wendt.   Hanna is survived by her children, William M. Phipps and his wife Maria (of Guatemala),  Erik T. Phipps and his wife Linda, both of Chicopee, and Barbara P. Ina and her husband James of St. Petersburg, FL., a grandson David Phipps of Guatemala, her sister-in- law Christine Frierson, and brother-in-law Nathan Phipps both of Newark, NJ.   Funeral Saturday, Dec. 22, 2007 at 11:00 am at the Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway, Chicopee.  Burial will follow in St. Rose De Lima Cemetery. Visiting hours at the funeral home are Friday 4-8 pm.
