Harriet Lichwan

Hariet Lichwan 1938-2009   Harriet Lichwan, 71, of Chicopee passed away on Wednesday, November 11, 2009. Born in Chicopee and a life long resident, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Blanche (Sobaski) Lichwan.  Harriet was a retired (40) year statistician for Dow Jones Wall Street Journal of Chicopee. She retired in 2003.  Harriet along with her late sister, Helen Nowak co-owned and operated the Lichwan Variety Store in Chicopee Falls.  She was a communicant of St. Patrick Church in Chicopee.  Harriet was very active in the parish as a volunteer working at bingo, various fund raising activities and participating in numerous social functions.  She leaves her brother Paul Lichwan of West Springfield, a sister Wanda Dziadul of Ellington, CT and numerous nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 16, 2009 from the Tylunas Funeral Home 159 Broadway, Chicopee at 9 a.m., followed by the Liturgy of Christian Burial in St. Patrick Church at 10 a.m.  Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Chicopee.
