Helen H. Green 1918 - 2010 SPRINGFIELD - Helen H. (Kustra) Green, 91, died Saturday, May 15, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center. She was born in Chicopee on November 27, 1918 to the late Joseph and Agnes (Kustra) Kustra. Helen attended schools in Chicopee and was a longtime parishioner of the former St. Mary's Church, now Mary, Mother of Hope Church in East Springfield. She worked most of her life as a housekeeper for many different doctors' offices in the Chicopee area. She retired from Smith and Wesson after ten years of service then she worked part-time at Packaging Service in Agawam. Helen enjoyed family get-togethers, playing cards, watching the Red Sox and golf and occasionally going to the casino. Helen loved her family and was a devoted mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Helen was predeceased by her loving husband, Francis P. Green in 1971 after thirty-one years of marriage. She leaves to cherish her memory, her three sons, George F. Green of Chicopee, Joseph L. Green, Sr. and his wife Rose Ann of Chicopee and Robert E. Green of Indian Orchard; her two daughters, Helen E. Golemo and her husband John of Chicopee and Frances M. Wright and her husband Ted of Hurlock, MD; her sister, Jennie Williams of Chicopee and her three grandchildren, Deborah Green, Joseph L. Green, Jr. and Michael Green. She will also be sadly missed by several nieces, nephews and many extended family members. Beside her parents and her husband, Helen was also predeceased by her two brothers, Adolph and Rudolph Kustra. A funeral procession will form Wednesday, May 19 at 8:45 a.m. at Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway, Chicopee. There will be a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Mary, Mother of Hope Church in East Springfield. Burial will follow the Liturgy in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Chicopee. Calling hours will be Tuesday, May 18 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
