Helen M. LaBelle 1915-2011 CHICOPEE- Helen M. (Porowski) LaBelle, 95, a life long Chicopee resident, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, January 13, 2011 in Wingate of Hampden. She was born in Chicopee on March 7, 1915, a daughter of the late Boleslaw and Eva (Wysolmierski) Porowski. Helen was predeceased by her husband, Leo P. LaBelle; a daughter, Joan C. LaBelle; a son, Leo P. LaBelle Jr.; two brothers, Peter and Walter Porowski; and a sister Julia Jodlowski. She is survived by her son, Richard R. LaBelle and his wife Sally of Springfield; a sister, Ann Kowalczyk of Chicopee; a sister-in-law, Doris Rodier and her husband Rolland of Chicopee; nine grandchildren, Elaine, Gary, Richard Jr., Kristin, John Paul, Susie, Jurgen Jr., and her devoted granddaughters, Lori and Debbie; 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Helen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be sadly missed by all that loved her. She was a communicant of St. Anne Church, Fairview, and an active former member of the Chicopee Golden Agers. Helen's funeral ceremony will be held on Tuesday, January 18th beginning at 9 a.m. from the Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Anne Church, 30 College St., with Rites of Committal in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Fuller Road, all in Chicopee. Helen's family will receive relative and friends at the visitation on Monday, January 17th from 3-7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Helen's memory to Shriners Hospital for Children, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104.
