Helen J. Scott 1922 ~ 2009   Helen J. (Dobrikas) Scott, 86, of 2 Bayberry at The American Inn of Southwick, passed away Friday, March 20, 2009 at Noble Hospital, Westfield.  Born in Sunderland on June 26, 1922 to the late Michael and Lucy (Youkabitis) Dobrikas, she graduated from Deerfield High School and the former Northampton Commercial College.  She worked for the U.S. Government during World War II as a Senior Clerk in the Chemical Warfare Service in Washington, D.C. for five years.  In 1958 she became employed at Westover AFB and worked as Secretary for the 8th Air Force, Strategic Air Command Directorate of Civil Engineering.  In 1973 she transferred as Secretary to the Civilian Personnel Office, 99th Combat Support Group, SAC. In 1981 she was promoted to Staffing Assistant in the 439th Combat Support Group, Headquarters Air Force Reserve.  She retired after (34) years of Government Service in 1987.  She was predeceased by her husband, Russell E. Scott who died in 1959.  Helen loved to travel and was dedicated to her family leaving her three beloved sons; Russell and his wife Kathy of Sunderland, Richard and his late wife Judy of Chicopee and Rodney and his wife Diane of East Longmeadow.  Helen leaves six grandchildren, Robert, Lisa, Russell, Matthew Allicia and Christopher and two great grandchildren, Bryan and Brennan.  She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in East Springfield.  Helen was predeceased by her brother Stanley of Westfield and her sister Julia Grammer of Moses Lake, Washington.  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 from the Tylunas Funeral Home 159 Broadway, Chicopee at 9 a.m., followed by the Liturgy of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, East Springfield, at 10 a.m.  Burial will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Springfield.  Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2009 from 4 to 8 p.m. For Directions & Guest Book: tylunasfuneralhome.com
