Helena Midura

CHICOPEE-Helena (Dusza) Midura, 87, of Hamilton St. in Chicopee passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, July 22, 2017, at Renaissance Manor surrounded by her loving family.  Helena was born in Poland on May 6, 1930, the daughter of the late Jan and Maria (Robak) Dusza. She was raised and educated in Poland, growing up in the beautiful town of Wampierzów, in Southeast Poland. Helena was a devout Catholic and after moving to Mielec, she was very active in the church and was a member of many rosary prayer groups. After arriving in America and eventually settling in Chicopee, she joined the parish family of Our Lady of the Rosary Church on Franklin Street in Springfield. She dedicated her life in both Poland and America to raising her children and then to helping raise her grandchildren. She made sure they always had a loving household, filled with warmth, laughter, and delicious food. Her husband, Stefan Midura predeceased her. She was also predeceased by her dear sister, Irena Kulig and a brother, Adolf Dusza. Helena leaves her loving children; Elzbieta Witek of Chicopee and Zbigniew Midura of Maspeth, NY.  She was the cherished grandmother and "Babcia", to   Margaretta Midura, Krzysztof Witek and Marcin Witek and the great grandmother of  Nicole and Matthew. She also leaves several nieces and nephews, all who adored her. Calling hours for Helena will be Friday evening at the Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway St., Chicopee, Ma. from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services and Processional will begin Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. at the Tylunas Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian burial to be celebrated by Rev. Stanislaw Sokol, Pastor, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 334 Franklin St., Springfield. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Easthampton, Ma.
