Howie Gardner1935-2016Springfield- Howie Gardner, 80, of Springfield passed away Thursday, April 21, 2016. Born in Brooklyn, NY on September 30, 1935, he was the son of the late William and Bella (Nelson) Gardner. Howie grew up in Ludlow and served in the United States Navy. He loved hunting and fishing. Howie leaves his loving wife of 49 years, Louise (Smart) Gardner; his sister, Isabella Butterfield and her husband Donald; his two daughters, Roni Gardner and her wife Jackie Barre, and April Gardner. Committal services with military honors will be held on Friday, April 29, 2016 at 10am in the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery Chapel, 1390 Main St, Agawam.
