Ida Moggio

Ida Moggio, 94, passed away peacefully on Sunday February 12, 2017. She was born in Chicopee on May 13, 1922 to the late Valentino and Pierina (Lanzone) Moggio. After graduating from Chicopee High School, she later went on to  Massachusetts State College to get her Bachelor's degree, and then to Springfield College where she received her Master's degree. Ida taught foreign languages in Chicopee but had spent almost four decades of her career teaching in Agawam. Seeing the world was Ida's passion, travelling extensively in Europe, Canada, Mexico and the United States. Ida is survived by her friend; Edward Merrill of Westfield and relatives in Northampton and Virginia. She is predeceased by her sister; Lillian Moggio. All services have been entrusted to Tylunas Funeral Home, 159 Broadway St. Chicopee. Burial will be at the request of the family.
