Irene Agnes Bernier

Irene Agnes Bernier, 88, formerly of South Hadley, MA and West Hartford, CT passed away at Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Agawam on Thursday, February 16, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was born and raised in Hartford, Connecticut to the late Joseph and Agnes (Cwikla) Olech. Irene graduated from Hartford Public High School in 1946. She was a member of St. Ann's Church in Chicopee. Irene was pre deceased by her husband Joseph Bernier in 2011. She leaves to cherish her memory a son; Ronald and his wife Rosemary Bernier of Glenwood, NJ four daughters; Cheryl and her husband Rick Picard of Chicopee, MA, Michele Borelli of SC, Lynne and her husband Thomas Dutka of Rocky Hill, CT and Roxanne Bernier of Simsbury, CT six grandchildren; Jeffrey and Pamela Bernier, Nicole Locke, Katlyn Duncan, Lauren and TJ Borelli and two great-grandchildren; Ariana Locke and Riley Duncan; sister MaryAnn Faircloth of Baconton, GA. A church service will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 11 A.M. in the St. Ann's Church, located at 30 College Street Chicopee. Burial will be privately held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Irene's name to the National Kidney Foundation 1463 Highland Ave, Cheshire, CT 06410.
