Irene Lajeunesse1920-2014EAST LONGMEADOW- Irene Lajeunesse, 94, passed away at Redstone Rehabilitation Center on Friday, February 28, 2014. She was born on January 18, 1920 to the late John and Betsy (Ireson) McComb in Holyoke.  Irene was a homemaker for many years before working and retiring from Shop-Rite Grocery Stores.  She spent most of her spare time with her family, always being there for her children and grandchildren. Irene was predeceased by her loving husband Harmen W. Lajeunesse on September 28, 1994; two brothers, Norman and George McComb; and one nephew, George McComb. Irene is survived by one son, Ronald and his wife Phyllis of Hampden; one daughter, Lynne McDonough and her husband Daniel of Longmeadow; three grandchildren, Kristin Sherwood, Kendra Lajeunesse, and Daniel McDonough Jr; three great grandchildren, Patrick, Jada, and Natasha; one nephew Norman; and one niece Barbara.  A funeral home service will be held for Irene in Tylunas Funeral Home at 11:00am on Saturday, March 8, followed by a committal service at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Chicopee.  Visiting hours will be Friday, March 7 from 4-7pm at the funeral home.  Irene's family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Redstone Rehabilitation for their assistance in caring for Irene for the past few years.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The American Lung Association of Western Massachusetts, 393 Maple St, Springfield, MA 01105.  For additional information, visit tylunasfuneralhome.comTylunas Funeral Home(413) 592-0148
